At the end of 2016, Acumium earned another certification at the Microsoft Silver Partnership level in recognition of our competency in application development and cloud platforms. Since 2006, Acumium has been a Microsoft Silver Certified Partner as a developer of web-based applications. For the last decade, Acumium has offered certified products on Windows platforms and now offers cloud-based environments as well. Following a rigorous certification process that included demonstrated work and customer references, Microsoft has validated our proficiency in deploying and managing solutions in the cloud.
Acumium is fully committed and versed in virtualized infrastructure. We have been running our own internal virtualized infrastructure since 2005. Shortly thereafter, we started testing and evaluating virtualized and cloud services as a better solution for deploying and scaling applications. After Amazon launched AWS, we tested, evaluated and launched our first applications in the cloud in 2008, and have been building and deploying solutions in cloud environments since. Having an established footprint in AWS, we quickly expanded to other cloud providers including Rackspace and Microsoft Azure. In 2010, we made a significant migration of our Microsoft software based services to Microsoft Azure and have been expanding the types and size of the application workloads we deploy and manage in Microsoft Azure.
Attaining the additional Silver certification from Microsoft for Cloud Platforms is a testament to the experience and expertise of our team. Adding this certification, we have even more support and access to tools that will allow to further accelerate and deepen the services we provide to our customers. It also gives existing and prospective Acumium customers tangible proof we have the combined skill sets to meet their needs. There are very few Microsoft Certified providers having both application development and cloud competencies operating in our space who can design, build, and deploy solutions.
